As a seasoned wedding fayre exhibitor I know only too well that some of them are mostly attended by people who want some free cake and numerous trips to the chocolate fountain. However, this was not the case….

So many loved up couples arrived to take a look at the venue and meet with  wedding suppliers of gowns, cakes, cars and photographers. I met with so many brides who were genuinely enthuiastic about their wedding flowers, some of them already had ideas, others just starting to gather inspiration. It appears that the vintage trend is to continue into the latter part of this year but there was also one or two ladies who want to be a little bit more innovative which is great for me because I love the challenge of trying something new.  It’s great to be able to spend time with them individually to talk about their own unique requirements. There’s going to be a lot of beautiful weddings out there this year and next Spring looks as though it is going to be particularly busy which is very promising with all this ‘eonomic climate doom and gloom’.

This is my first Valentines Day as a freelance florist and I’m very much looking forward to it, I’ve got some gorgeous flowers arriving and they will be wrapped in my scrummy new packaging and delivered by moi! This should be a doddle in comparison to managing the shop on an occasion like this…she says…

For me,work will be finished by around 2 pm on Valentines Day and although ‘The Old Man‘ doesn’t know it yet, he’s whisking me away for a well deserved mini break to our favourite place! (yes that’s right girls…I booked it myself…better to be safe than sorry eh!) We’re going to laze in front of an open fire and indulge in some seriously good fodder and maybe a glass or two of sparkly!

I’d love to know what your plans are for Valentines day, flowers and chocolates, a romantic stroll, the theatre, or is your other half one of those who “doesn’t believe in that rubbish” maybe you’re going out donning your LBD in the hope he’s finally gonna pop the question?!
